Chit-Fung (Lawrence) Lam
Chit-Fung Lam (Lawrence) is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Manchester, where he obtained his PhD in Linguistics. He is interested in theoretical linguistics, particularly syntax and syntax–semantics interface, as well as how computational methods (e.g., grammar engineering) and experimental approaches (e.g., interpretative experiments) can inform the development of linguistic theory. Having worked within the framework of Lexical-Functional Grammar (LFG), he is fascinated by cross-framework comparison, exploring similarities and differences between LFG and other approaches, in particular, Minimalist analyses. He is passionate about cross-linguistic variations, and his research has drawn on data from English as well as Sinitic languages, including Mandarin and Cantonese.
