Danille Elize Arendse Stellenbosch University / University of Pretoria

Dr. Danille Elize Arendse holds a PhD in Psychology and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Centre for the Study of the Afterlife of Violence and the Reparative Quest (AVReQ) at Stellenbosch University. Dr. Arendse practices as a uniformed Research Psychologist in a Major's rank at the Military Psychological Institute. Additionally, she serves as a Research Associate in the Department of Psychology at the University of Pretoria, a Research Fellow in the Department of Psychology at Stellenbosch University, and an Associate Fellow at The Harriet Tubman Institute, York University, Canada. In 2025, Arendse was awarded the APA Division 35 (Society for the Psychology of Women), Section 1 (Psychology of Black Women) Foremothers Mentorship Early Career Award, and the Excellence in Research and Development award from MPI. She was recently elected as a board member for the South African Professional Board of Psychology within the HPCSA. Arendse has presented and published papers both locally and internationally.
