Cult F: disability storytelling in times of global crises
Block 3
Tuesday & Thursday, 12:00-1:20 pm (NY)
(7:00-8:20 pm, Kyiv/St. P)
This seminar offers a brief introduction to disability and questions of representation and storytelling. With elements of art and popular culture as our starting point, we will discuss how disabled people tell their own stories over various media (performance, music and music videos, poems, documentaries). Combined with theoretical readings, we will examine invisibility, claims to pleasure, and political demands through the prism of storytelling, making sense of the human condition, communicating, and mobilizing communities.
