What are the conditions that make speech possible? That unblock ears?
The likeness of (spider)webs to speech. Textiles to speech. Or is it silence? Making words that become webs. Linking our words into webs. (Becoming spiders, the original spinners, poets, artists.) Every poem is an uprising. Someone chose to speak it, to spin it. Who can hear a spider weave? (Webs no doubt whisper.) “Talkin’ bout a revolution. Sounds—like a whisper” (Tracy Chapman) I hear their names are Emily, Denise, Natalie, Jake, Joy, Rita, Warsan, Refaat. Here, in this seminar, we will word-weave, listen, and rise up (singing?) We’ll see. . . (but watch out for the Minotaur.)
