This course provides an introduction to the study of meaning in natural language, borrowing formal tools from logic and mathematics. We will discuss the semantics of nouns, verbs, adjectives, and quantifiers (some, all), among other topics, with the ultimate goal of understanding how these meanings conspire to form the meanings of full sentences. We will also touch on how the context of utterance influences interpretation.
